May Fishing Report
Spring is here! The water has warmed up to 80+ degrees and the fishing has fired up! We have been catching good numbers of snook and redfish freelining live pilchards under the mangroves. The inshore mangrove snapper have also been getting bigger as the water has been warming up with live shrimp and pilchards being the preferred baits. Tarpon in the 100+# range have been of the beaches being caught on live threadfin herring. The trout bite has been good on the grass flats in 3-5 ft of water easily producing double digits of fish during both the incoming and outgoing tides on 3” paddle tails on a 1/4 oz jig, and live shrimp or pilchards under popping corks. This is one of the best times of the year to fish. Don't miss out, get up and go fishing!
Tight lines,
